Magna opens new chassis facility in Mexico

Auto supplier Magna International Inc. has opened its Autotek Morelos plant, a new greenfield facility in Emiliano Zapata, Morelos, Mexico, designed for the assembly of automotive chassis products.

The 130,000-square-foot facility will produce structural welded assemblies for global automakers including Nissan, and is expected to employ approximately 300 people at full production.

This is the company’s 31st facility in Mexico, with the first one, Autotek Puebla, opening in 1991.

Aurora, Ont.-based Magna currently employs more than 24,000 employees in Mexico
