A Brazilian car parts manufacturer is planning to begin construction in Pennsylvania later this month on its first facility in the U.S.
Torcomp LLC is building a new factory in the Cumberland Valley Business Park, near Chambersburg, Pa.
The facility will create 73 new jobs over the next three years.
According to the Franklin County Area Development Corp., construction of the 16,400-square-foot plant is expected to take six months and be completed in the fall of 2014.
The company plans to invest more than US$9-million at the new site.
Gov. Tom Corbett said the Pennsylvania Industrial Development Authority will provide a 15-year, $640,000 low-interest loan to the county development agency on behalf of Torcomp.
