Canadian auto parts supplier ABC Group is partnering with China’s Yapp Automotive Parts Co. to provide plastic fuel tanks in Asia, North America and Europe.
ABC Group Fuel Systems Inc. announced the signing of a strategic alliance agreement with Yapp on July 22.
“There has been a shift in automotive manufacturing requirements towards the use of global automotive platforms, with a single common architecture, including design, engineering, and production, as well as major components,” the companies said in a statement. “This strategic alliance strengthens market share for both companies, as it will allow the companies to meet global automotive platform requirements.”
“Given the trend towards global automotive platforms, the alliance with YAPP is part of ABC’s overall strategy to develop strong alliances in key markets to ensure long-term global growth,” added Marius Sipos, vice president, ABC Group Fuel Systems.
ABC Group Fuel Systems Inc., part of the Toronto-based ABC Group of Companies, was established in Gallatin, U.S.A. in 1998. The company manufactures over 1 million multi-layer plastic fuel tank assemblies for automotive and non-automotive original equipment manufacturers per year.
Founded in 1988, Yapp specializes in developing, manufacturing and selling automotive plastic fuel tanks. With headquarters and R&D centre in Yangzhou, China, Yapp currently operates eight plants in China, one plant in India, one plant in Australia and one plant in Russia.
