Lear Corp. has announced it is closing its seating plant in Auburn Hills, MI after losing a major contract to General Motors. The plant will be closed by the end of this month, according to a report published by Reuters. The Auburn Hills plant makes seats for the Buick LeSabre and Buick Park Avenue sedans, built at GM’s facility in Orion Township, MI. The plant did not win the seating contract for the next vehicle to be built at Orion, the Pontiac G6 sedan. Lear employs 305 people at the Auburn Hills plant.
