Atlanta-based Georgia Gulf Corporation has announced that it will enter the rigid vinyl additives business by launching a new division called Solucor. Formerly Reagens Canada, Solucor produces process aids, impact modifiers, lubricants and stabilizers at its Bradford, Ont. manufacturing facility.

“Solucor additives have a solid track record of successful performance in their targeted applications dating back to their inception in 1994,” said Georgia Gulf CEO and president Ed Schmitt. “Today, these additives are proven and widely used in downstream Georgia Gulf operations, as well as those of other commercial customers.”

Georgia Gulf, a manufacturer of chlorovinyls and aromatics, acquired Reagens Canada as part of its purchase of Royal Group Technologies Limited in 2006.
