Exco to sell Techmire

Markham, Ont.-based Exco Technologies Ltd., a supplier for the die-cast, extrusion and automotive industries, has announced the sale of its Techmire division in Montreal.

Techmire, which produces multiple-slide die casting machines for the production of zinc and plastic components, will be sold to Dynacast International Ltd.

The cash sale includes all assets of the Techmire business, except for the production facility which will be leased to Dynacast on a short-term basis and then sold.

“This divestiture will allow Exco management to better enhance shareholder value by focusing more closely on improving margins in its core businesses and taking advantage of other growth opportunities,” said the company in a press release.

Exco Technologies Ltd. has 11 locations and employs 2,100 people.
