The Canadian Plastics Industry Association (CPIA) has announced the finalists and the career award recipient for the 2006 Galea Plastics Gala and Awards Ceremony.
The three finalists for the Galea PME (small and medium-sized business) award are Jyco Sealing Technologies Corp., a thermoplastic vulcanizate (TPV) manufacturer with North American headquarters in Dexter, Mich., and a factory in Quebec; Plastique Rotek, a plastic waste container manufacturer based in Salaberry-de-Valleyfield, Que.; and Saint-Claire, Que.-based plastics prototype developer Moules et Modeles PCM Inc.
The three finalists for the Galea Innovation award are Simex Technologies Inc., an epoxy processor based in Montreal; injection and extrusion molder IPL Inc., with Canadian facilities in Saint-Damian, Saint-Lazare and Lawrenceville, Que., and Edmundston, N.B.; and Foam Creations, an injection molder of ethylene-based foams located near Montreal.
The three finalists for the Galea Exportation award are Plastipak Industries Inc., a rigid plastic packaging processor located in La Prairie, Que.; Magog, Que.-based injection and blow molder Lefko Plastic Products; and Rene Composite Materials Ltd., an automotive parts supplier with facilities in Saint-Ephrem de Beauce and Saint-Clotilde de Beauce, Que.
Finally, the CPIA will present the Career Galea Award to Gilles Decelles, president of MAC Closures Inc., a bottle cap injection molder headquartered in Waterloo, Que.
