Specialty packaging firm, CCL Industries Inc., based in Willowdale, Ont., announced last week it has bought the remaining 49 per cent of its European Joint Venture, CCL-Pachem.
In 2003, CCL entered into the Joint Venture with Austria-based Pachem AG, and CCL-Pachem provided package decorating solutions for European brands. It has operations in Austria, France and the U.K., which produce pressure sensitive, shrink sleeve and in-mold labels. The U.K. site provides the paint industry with decorative labeling systems for plastic paint containers.
Additionally, CCL is acquiring a privately-owned label converted called Merroc Ltd., which is based in Cumbernauld, Scotland. Merroc also supplies pressure sensitive colour chip labels for paint manufacturers.
CCL produces plastic tubes and colours, aluminum containers and product labeling.
