Long-time plastics industry veteran John Blundy is retiring.

Blundy, currently the vice president of business development with Erie, Pa.-based Beaumont Technologies Inc., is set to retire on February 1.

Although based out of the U.S. for most of his career, Blundy got his start in plastics through Bolton, Ont.-based Husky Injection Molding Systems, where he worked in Canada as an area sales manager from 1975 to 1984. From there he accepted the national sales manager position for Mannesmann Demag, (later to become Van Dorn/Demag USA). From 1996-2012, he served as vice president of business development at Incoe Corporation.

Blundy was inducted into the Plastics Pioneers Association in 2012, holds multiple patents, has served the industry including Equipment Council Chairman of SPI, and was nominated as a pioneer in the Structural Plastics Division of SPI.
