Extrusion machinery maker battenfeld-cincinnati has named equipment Gerold Schley as its new president and CEO.

Effective January 1, 2015, the 54-year-old Schley replaces interim president and CEO Michael von Cappeln, who filled in following Jürgen Arnold’s resignation earlier this year.

According to Vienna, Austria-based battenfeld-cincinnati, Schley has previously held several leading positions in the plastics industry – first in the injection molding sector, then for a number of years in consulting, and most recently as managing director of the European subsidiaries and vice president of the Chinese subsidiaries of a major producer of plastics machinery.

“We are very pleased to win an outstanding top executive like Gerold Schley, with such distinguished leadership qualities and a long-term expertise in our business areas,” said Hans Maret, chairman of the Supervisory Board of the battenfeld-cincinnati group. “We are confident that, thanks to his international expertise and knowledge of the Chinese market, we will continue to drive the positive future development of battenfeld-cincinnati in the global market.”

The battenfeld-cincinnati group operates production plants in Bad Oeynhausen and Kempen, Germany; Vienna; Shunde, China; and McPherson, Kans. in the U.S. the company supplies high-speed extruders and turnkey extrusion lines.
