3D printing and additive manufacturing machines maker Stratasys Ltd. has purchased 3D CAD software designer GrabCAD Inc.

3D printing and additive manufacturing machines maker Stratasys Ltd. has purchased 3D CAD software designer GrabCAD Inc.

The terms of the transaction were not disclosed, and the transaction is expected to be completed by the end of September.

Boston, Mass.-based GrabCAD will operate as a unit within theStratasys Global Products and Technology Group.Hardi Meybaum, co-founder and CEO of GrabCAD, will continue to lead GrabCAD within the group.

According to Stratasys, the acquisition is expected to enableit to provide its customers with enhanced collaboration tools and improved accessibility relating to 3D CAD content.

Stratasys has corporate headquarters in Minneaspolis, Minn., and Rehovot, Israel.
