Cincinnati, Ohio-based equipment maker Milacron LLC has named Bruce Catoen as the company’s chief technology officer (CTO).
“As the CTO, [Bruce] will institutionalize the process of product and service development, invest in top-tier people, guide investment in new technologies, build a strong portfolio of IP protection and evaluate attractive acquisitions,” the company said in a statement. “A key part of [Bruce’s] role will also be to look at how to leverage the combined technology in each division to provide customers with complete systems solutions.”
The Milacron group of companies includes brands such as Mold-Masters, DME, CIMCOOL, Uniloy, Ferromatik, ServTek, and Milacron injection molding and extrusion equipment. By working closely with the individual product development teams, the statement said, Catoen will establish and help execute a three-year product technology roadmap designed to establish Milacron as a leader in high-precision plastic processing technologies and control systems, and a complete turnkey solution provider in strategic markets and technologies.
Based out of the Toronto area, Catoen will report to Ron Krisanda, chief operating officer of Milacron and president of Mold-Masters.
