To satisfy what it calls growing product demand, injection molding machine maker Engel has announced a 12 million euro (US$16 million) expansion at its headquarters in Schwertberg, Austria.

According to a company news release, the bulk of the expansion involves building additional despatch, incoming goods and storage facilities to the south of the existing Schwertberg site, close to the Schwertberg railway station.

Building work for the expansion will be completed by the end of 2012, Engel said.

According to Engel Holding CEO Peter Neumann, the investment will result in “optimisation of internal procedures and a large improvement in working conditions in the logistics department”.
