Big expansion underway at Arburg headquarters in Germany

Construction has started on a new 200,000-square-foot expansion at the headquarters of injection molding machine maker Arburg GmbH + Co KG, in Lossburg, Germany.

Arburg officials held a groundbreaking ceremony April 28.

“The new, two-storey hall…will provide space for the assembly and testing of large AllRounder injection molding machines up to a clamping force of 5,000 kN and complete turnkey systems,” Arburg said in a statement. “The new building section, which will be ready for occupancy by autumn 2015, increases the total floorspace in Lossburg by around 13 per cent to just under 165,000 m^2.”

Michael Helh, Arburg managing partner, said the capital investment “demonstrates our clear commitment to the central production location [of Lossburg]”.

The family-owned Aburg has been building injection molding machines in Lossburg for 60 years.
