Construction has started on a new 200,000-square-foot expansion at the headquarters of injection molding machine maker Arburg GmbH + Co KG, in Lossburg, Germany.

Arburg officials held a groundbreaking ceremony April 28.

“The new, two-storey hall…will provide space for the assembly and testing of large AllRounder injection molding machines up to a clamping force of 5,000 kN and complete turnkey systems,” Arburg said in a statement. “The new building section, which will be ready for occupancy by autumn 2015, increases the total floorspace in Lossburg by around 13 per cent to just under 165,000 m2.”

Michael Helh, Arburg managing partner, said the capital investment “demonstrates our clear commitment to the central production location [of Lossburg]”.
