Germany-based injection molding machine maker Arburg Inc. reported record sales in 2014, and has also announced specifics about its new North American headquarters in Rocky Hill, Conn.

The announcements were made at the NPE2015 trade show in Orlando, Fla.

“Consolidated turnover at the Arburg Group – including our international subsidiaries – amounts to around 540 million euros in 2014, a new record for Arbug,” Helmut Heinson, managing director, sales for Arburg GmbH, said at a press conference. “In euro terms, the value of incoming orders is more than 15 per cent above the 2013 figure.”

Ninety-two per cent of incoming orders in 2014 were received via Arburg’s own organizations, he added.

The number of employees worldwide has also increased, Heinson said, with Arburg currently employing a staff of over 2,400 worldwide – an increase of 6.4 per cent over 2013. “Capital investments last year amounted to 15.8 million Euros, 20 per cent more than in 2013,” Heinson said.

Arburg also set June 16, 2015 as the official opening date of its new corporate headquarters in Rocky Hill, Conn. The 27,000-square-foot facility will house the company’s corporate offices, a showroom, a warehouse and additional storage space. “At the heart of the building is a showroom offering space for up to seven AllRounder injection molding machines, which can be used both for testing customer molds, for training purposes, demonstrations and technical seminars,” said Friedrich Kanz, Arburg’s managing director. “The facility will also offer large spare parts storage to support all Arburg machines in North America, and an area for turnkey projects.”

Arburg has been located in Newington, Conn. since it was first established in 1991. The company is planning to move its 34 employees to the new building in Rocky Hill, and will hire at least six more individuals.
