“ABB has the most advanced industrial robotic products and systems in the industry and we are excited to expand our relationship with them in North America,” said Robert Jodoin, president of Axium. “The combined expertise of ABB Robotics and Axium is uniquely capable to serve to growing market requirements for mixed load packing and palletizing.”

According to Joe Campbell, vice president of sales and marketing for ABB, the company believes Axium’s robotic palletizing system is well suited to handle requirements from retailers for mixed load or build-to-order product pallets. “Axium’s packaging and palletizing systems match the market demand for flexible solutions that meet demands for a shorter supply chain, reduced lot sizes and reduced shipping costs,” he said.

Founded in 1989, Axium makes automated robotic systems for integration, process and industrial controls, material handling, assembly, and warehousing. The company has headquarters in Montreal, a sales office in Calgary, and also operates companies in Croatia and Mexico.

A division of the ABB Group, ABB Robotics North America is headquartered in Auburn Hills, Mich.
