Shini Plastics Technology (Canada) Inc. Screenless granulators ideal for beside-the-press recycling

The SG-24 series of screenless granulators from Shini offer a number of benefits: low horsepower, slow speed (30 rpm), very little dust, low heat, and low noise. The unique design of the cutting blades cuts the scrap in an action similar to scissors, resulting in granulate that is very close to the quality of virgin resin.

These granulators are ideal for beside-the-press recycling of sprues and runners, especially for molders running engineering resins that must be dried before molding. A sprue picker can place the scrap directly into the granulator, and then a blower can move it right back into the hopper of an instant recycling device mounted on the injection molding machine hopper. A system such as this saves drying capacity (so a smaller dryer can be used), and saves drying energy. Plus, if the virgin resin is being colored, it reduces the amount of color concentrate needed.

Hamilton Avtec Inc. Heavy-duty grinders for a variety of uses

Ranging from 3 Hp to 125 Hp, these central granulators are designed to grind a wide variety of almost all production scrap: from sprues and runners, blow molded parts, purgings, to tube, profiles and sheet. They are an especially good choice for recyclers and manufacturers of large plastic auto parts.

On the A750/75HP and larger, a rear feed chute is standard, as well as a front feed chute. The rear chute is handy when long, flat parts, such a automotive panels, need to be fed into the granulator.

They come with three rotor configurations, with the blades staggered to balance the load and improve performance. Dual fly wheels assist with the cutting. The machine is fully sound-proofed. A reduced voltage starter results in major energy savings.
