Three global packaging suppliers consolidate in Memphis, Tenn.

Three sister companies that supply plastics packaging products are being consolidated into one global headquarters in Memphis, Tenn.

According to Tennessee state officials, Graham Packaging Co. and Closure Systems International Inc. will combine with Memphis-based Evergreen Packaging Inc.

Headquartered in York, Pa., Graham Packaging makes plastic bottles and other packaging solutions; Closure Systems, headquartered in Indianapolis, Ind., makes plastic closures and fitments; and Memphis-based Evergreen Packaging makes paper-based cartons that incorporate plastic spouts and closures. All three companies are owned by Rank Group Ltd., a private investment firm based in Auckland, New Zealand.

“Together, the three companies comprise 127 global manufacturing facilities in 36 countries, 14,000 employees and revenues of approximately US$5.5 billion annually,” the office of Tennessee Gov. Bill Haslam said in a statement. “In order to accommodate the headquarters consolidation in Memphis, the company plans on adding additional square footage to its current facility.”
