Saint-Gobain Performance Plastics has purchased Twin Bay Medical, a Michigan-based maker of BarbLock brand flexible tube retainers as well as single-use components for biopharmaceuticals manufacturing.

The terms of the deal have not been disclosed.

Aurora, Ohio-based Saint-Gobain said Twin-Bay Medical’s production plant in Williamsburg, Mich., its development organization, and all the employees currently working for the company are included in the transaction.

“The acquisition of Twin Bay Medical enables us to continue to bring innovative solutions to the market, especially for single-use biopharmaceutical manufacturing for which Twin Bay Medical has consistently been developing new and unique products to meet the challenges of this new industry,” Michael Cahill, vice president of Saint-Gobain Performance Plastics’ Fluid Systems division, said in a statement.

“We are also very pleased that Twin Bay Medical’s founder, Al Werth, will continue to work with us and will keep bringing innovation within the space of single-use biopharmaceutical manufacturing,” Cahill said.
