Packager Coveris names Gary Masse as new CEO

Global plastics packager Coveris has named Gary Masse as its new CEO, effective April 14.

Masse succeeds Jack Knott, who will remain with the company as a non-executive director.

Chicago-based Coveris claims to be the sixth-largest plastics packaging company in the world.

Masse most recently was CEO of Precision Partners Inc., a US$500 million engineering and manufacturing company. Immediately prior to that, he was group president for Cooper Industries, where he managed the US$800 million Cooper Tools global business. He has also held executive and senior management positions at Danaher Corp. and General Electric.

Coveris reports annual revenues of more than US$2.8 billion and more employs more than 8,600 workers.
