Plastic film and sheet systems manufacturer Macro Engineering & Technology Inc. has been sold to DXS International Enterprises Inc., a Canadian corporation owned by the publicly traded Chinese company Dalian Rubber & Plastics machinery Co. Ltd., for $8.5 million.
“The acquisition allows Macro to accelerate its previously planned expansion of its Canadian manufacturing and research and development facility in Mississauga, Ontario, which is already underway,” Macro said in a press release.
The Mississauga-based company also said that it will continue to operate autonomously and will retain its key management personnel and operational structure.
Founded in 1978, Macro is a supplier of extrusion and coextrusion systems for barrier and specialty films and sheet, including equipment for custom coating, winding, and web handling applications. Dalian Rubber & Plastics Machinery manufactures blown film extruders, calendar systems, and pelletizing lines, selling domestically and overseas.
