Husky Injection Molding Systems and the National Association for PET Container Resources (NAPCOR) partnered to host a one-day event at Husky’s global headquarters in Bolton, Ont., designed to showcase Husky’s PET preform injection molding solutions.

Held on July 22, 2015, the event drew more than 50 business leaders from throughout North America. “We were very happy to be given the opportunity to host this event on behalf of NAPCOR,” said Nicolas Rivollet, Husky’s director of business development. “Husky has always had a vested interest in promoting innovation and pushing the industry forward. Our relationship with NAPCOR provides us with invaluable insight that we apply to developing state-of-the-art technology for the beginning of the PET packaging supply chain, while allowing us to be mindful of how our technologies impact the end of that supply chain.”

The event included networking forums, product demonstrations, as well as presentations from Husky and industry experts. Carol Hochu, President and CEO of the Canadian Plastics Industry Association, delivered a presentation discussing Canadian plastics and sustainability. Also presenting was Pieterjan Van Uytvanck from The PCI Consulting Group, Xylenes and Polyesters, on the topic of Sustainability in the Polyester Value Chain and the Impact of Raw Materials. In addition, a presentation by Husky covered the topic of PET Packaging Trends. NAPCOR representatives closed the day by presenting Husky with an Appreciation Award for the company’s support of the PET industry.

Founded in 1987, Florence, Ky.-based NAPCOR is the trade association for the PET plastic packaging industry in the U.S. and Canada.
