Two British plastics associations are partnering to create a new business group for the UK’s plastics and flexible packaging industry.

Created by the British Plastics Federation (BPF) and the Packaging and Films Association (PAFA), the new group will operate within the BPF’s legal structure, and will comprise over 70 manufacturers of plastics and flexible packaging.

“This move will create a single, more powerful point of contact with governments across the UK, will enable us to leverage the combined expertise of both organizations, and will ensure that the communication and services to members are further enhanced,” said Barry Turner, CEO of PAFA.

Turner will lead the new group, which will be fully operational by January 1, 2016.
