Steve Braig, president and CEO of foaming technology supplier Trexel Inc. has been appointed as one of 26 business leaders to the 2013 Manufacturing Council in the U.S.

The Council, established in 2004 and directed by the U.S. Department of Commerce’s International Trade Administration, helps to ensure that there is regular communication between the U.S. government and the manufacturing sector.

In addition to heading Wilimington, Mass.-based Trexel, Braig also currently serves the plastics industry as an executive board member of the Society of the Plastics Industry. “I am honored to have been selected to serve on the Manufacturing Council,” Braig said. “I will have an opportunity to represent the interests of the plastics industry on the Council and speak to the issues that are important to our industry, including workforce development, access to cheap energy and free trade agreements, among others.”
