Machinery maker Milacron LLC has named Tom Goeke as its new CEO, replacing Dennis Smith.

Goeke assumes the position immediately, the Cincinnati-based company said in a press release.

Goeke, who serves on Milacron’s board of directors, has more than 25 years of executive management experience in the plastics industry. Prior to joining the board of Milacron, Goeke served as CEO of Klöckner Pentaplast Group, a producer of plastic films for packaging, printing, and specialty applications, from July 2005 until May 2011.

“Tom Goeke is a talented leader with a deep understanding of the industry and a clear vision for its future,” Milacron chairman Ira Boots said. “He has a proven track record of driving growth in global businesses…and we are confident in his ability to build on [Dennis Smith’s] foundation.”
