In a move to accommodate new business, auto parts maker Magna International Inc. has announced plans to nearly double the size of its automotive interiors manufacturing facility in Trnava, western Slovakia.

Aurora, Ont.-based Magna will expand the facility from around 93,650 square feet to more than 166,840 square feet.

The facility produces interiors products such as door panels, instrument panels and armrests for various global automakers.

“Continuing to grow our business and expand our plant is proof that we are delivering value to our customers,” Ralf Link, general manager of Magna Interiors Trnava, said in a statement. “Additionally, this expansion positions us for future growth opportunities, which is good for our employees and the local community.”

Magna Interiors Trnava started production in 2006 and currently employs nearly 400 workers.
