The medical business of Husky Injection Molding Systems has been awarded a Process Innovation Supplier of the Year award from Becton Dickinson, a global medical technology company.

Schöttli, a Husky Company, supports Becton Dickinson with molds for a variety of medical products, including high-speed, high-precision syringe component molds, and high-volume disposable insulin molds.

Husky acquired Swiss-based Schöttli in 2013.

In a statement, Husky said that Schöttli and Becton Dickinson pioneered the full hot runner mold process, and implemented high cavitation stack molds at Becton Dickinson, “significantly reducing waste and long-term capital expense, while increasing productivity and use of floor space.” There are currently more than 500 molds with the Schöttli name running across 18 global Becton Dickinson sites, Husky continued, with some molds over 30 years old and still producing parts.
