PolyOne buys two material suppliers

Compounding supplier PolyOne Corp. has purchased two privately-owned material suppliers.

The Avon Lake, Ohio-based firm has acquired Silcotec Inc. of La Porte, Ind., and Comptek Kunststoffverarbeitung GmbH of Diez, Germany.

Silcotec makes silicone-based color masterbatch concentrates, while Comptek produces coluor compounds and concentrates based on fluoropolymers and other high-end specialty resins.

The terms of the deals have not been announced.
