Polymers in Africa 2015

December 09 - December 10, 2015
179 - 199 Holland Park Avenue

AMI’s 1st international conference on Plastics in Africa will take place from the 9-10 December 2015 at the Hilton Kensington in London, United Kingdom. This new AMI event will provide participants with valuable insight into the world’s most exciting market for polymers and the opportunities it can offer suppliers, processors and manufacturers.

Africa’s growth is not only fuelled by its natural resources but also by its infrastructure development and emergent middle-class, and cities giving rise to a growing demand for a wide range of products requiring plastics from mobile phones to packaging. Not only that, but plastics products will play a vital role in the many fundamental challenges that the Continent faces from improving its agriculture, providing better water management systems, enabling safe and efficient food distribution and installing reliable power supplies.

The region is already attracting increasing interest from European companies looking at offshoring opportunities, especially in North Africa, while the development of duty free zones has attracted increasing levels of foreign manufacturing investment, mainly from China and India. However, Africa is a very complex market with the needs and market conditions of North Africa markedly different to most countries south of the Sahara.
