In a move intended to beef up its chemical division, specialty chemical supplier Milliken & Co. has acquired SiVance LLC, a privately held maker of specialty silicone products.
According to a Milliken press release, the merger will result in the addition of 150 associates to Spartanburg, S.C.-based Milliken’s work force, as SiVance becomes a subsidiary of the company’s specialty chemicals division.
Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
“This acquisition will immediately expand our market space for the chemical division while building on Milliken’s commitment to innovation, technology and sustainability,” Joe Salley, president and CEO of Milliken, said in the release. “We are excited to have the SiVance team join the Milliken family.”
SiVance develops and manufactures silane, siloxane and silicone intermediates for the personal care, pharmaceutical, construction and electronics industries at its 65-acre headquarters facility in Gainesville, Fla.
