DuPont settles lawsuit with Invista

Dupont Co. has settled three pending lawsuits with Invista, which bought much of DuPont’s textiles and interiors business several years ago.

The companies didn’t disclose the terms of the settlement.

The lawsuits originate with Wichita, Kan.-based Invista’s separation from DuPont, headquartered in Wilmington, Del., in 2004, when Invista was purchased by the subsidiaries of the privately held company Koch Industries. DuPont had claimed that Invista broke an agreement to provide DuPont with chemical products it needs to produce special nylon polymers and engineering resins.

The settlement “clarifies the respective rights and obligations of the companies, forming a strong foundation for both to focus on creating long-term values for their customers and the nylon 6/6 industry,” officials said in a press release.
