For the third straight year, flexible packaging supplier ProAmpac has won a Spirit of Excellence Award from its customer Hormel Foods.

For the third straight year, flexible packaging supplier ProAmpac has won a “Spirit of Excellence” award from its customer Hormel Foods.

During an awards celebration on June 8, ProAmpac celebrated this achievement at its Terrebonne, Que. facility.

ProAmpac is among 89 suppliers honored for contributing to Hormel’s continuous improvement process by maintaining an index rating score of 92 or better throughout 2016. Hormel is headquartered in Austin, Minn.

“The suppliers that have earned our Spirit of Excellence Award truly go above and beyond in helping us produce high-quality products for consumers around the world,” said Curtis Southard, director of purchasing at Hormel Foods. Using a universal measurement system, Hormel Foods ensures all suppliers are held to the same criteria which include performance requirements, on-time deliveries and high-level customer support.

Josh Becker, corporate buyer for Hormel Foods, along with Mr. Southard, presented the award to Vince Musacchio, president of ProAmpac’s Global Flexibles Division at a reception attended by all of the workers at the Terrebonne facility.

“For the past three years, we have celebrated our successful partnership with Hormel Foods by receiving the Spirit of Excellence Award. We are honored that Hormel Foods recognizes our dedication to service, and quality,” Musacchio said. “This is especially meaningful coming from a company that itself is the recipient of numerous accolades for its commitments to consumers, employees and corporate responsibility.”

Headquartered in Cincinnati, Ohio, ProAmpac has over 3,000 employees and 22 manufacturing centres in North America, Europe, and Asia.
