Precimold expands

Prompted by continued growth in its business, Candiac, Quebec-based Precimold Inc. is expanding. The moldmaker and custom injection molder of medical, electrical and technical components, has recently purchased a new 150-ton Engel two-color machine. The machine comes with an optional co-injection head and is equipped with a large primary 60 mm diameter screw and a 35 mm secondary screw. Additionally, a new 25-ton Engel vertical injection press will be put into service this month. The vertical press has a 1.0 oz. shot capacity and will be used for specialty insert molding applications.
On the moldmaking side of operations, Precimold has purchased two new CNC milling machines with high-speed capability and one new CNC lathe. The company has also upgraded its machinery with new CNC programming software to compliment existing 3-D mold and part design capabilities and meet its objective of reducing lead times.
