PLV Systems offers new extrusion analysis system

Concord, Ont.-based PLV Systems Inc. introduced a new material quality audit and analysis system for extruded window and door frames that can cut downtime by identifying and measuring orientations in extruder profiles.
“This service means that a window and door company does not have to make the commitment to purchase measuring equipment, and provide the training and support staff to run an extensive quality control department, to achieve benefits in reducing production downtime”, the company said.
Incoming material is measured on an automated system for 15 to 20 seconds per profile, for a length of time determined by each manufacturer. The information is then audited and used as a guideline to identify the areas of dimensional variance causing production downtime.
