The first thermoplastic elastomer (TPE)/Rubber Pavilion ever organized for an NPE plastics trade show is now sold out, the General Products Group (GPG) of the Rubber Manufacturers Association (RMA) announced.
The RMA organized the 6,500 sq. ft. (600 sq. m) pavilion in an agreement with The Society of the Plastics Industry, Inc. (SPI), sponsor of NPE 2006, which takes place June 19-23 at Chicago’s McCormick Place. The pavilion, which will feature 26 exhibitors, will be in Booth 5139 on Level 3 of McCormick Place North.
“Seventeen of the TPE/Rubber Pavilion exhibitors will be participating in an NPE show for the first time,” Kevin D. Ott, GPG vice president, said. “The strong demand for pavilion space that we encountered is testimony to the accelerating convergence of rubber and plastics technologies and the great interest among rubber processors in diversifying their manufacturing capabilities.”
Both thermoset rubber and TPE technologies are represented among the exhibitors.
In addition, one exhibit in the pavilion will be a display of products entered in a new TPE Product Design & Development Awards competition, with the winners to be announced on the last day of the show.
“While the companies in the TPE/Rubber Pavilion add a new dimension to NPE 2006, other suppliers of elastomer materials and processing systems that have regularly exhibited at NPE will be present elsewhere in the show,” Walt Bishop, SPI’s vice president of trade shows, said.
