Macro Engineering installs $35 million China facility

Mississauga, Ont.-based extrusion systems supplier Macro Engineering & Technology Inc. has opened a $35 million sheet production plant in China.

According to the company, the project began in 2005 with custom engineering and component integration, followed by an interim installation near Macros headquarters.

Overseas installation began early in 2007.

This has been a very exciting project for Macro, Mirek Planeta, Macros president, said. The challenge of overseeing such a large installation was a major undertaking, and successfully executing it at the other side of the world has been very rewarding.
