High Canadian job growth predicted

Canadian employers are anticipating the strongest second quarter hiring climate in two years, according to an employment survey. The survey, conducted by Manpower Inc., found that 31% of employers anticipate new hiring opportunities for the upcoming April-June period. This is a six-percent increase in hiring plans compared to last year’s survey results for the same April-June period, and a 16% jump in employers’ hiring plans over the previous three months.
Markets with the highest job-growth expectations are construction, where 43% of the firms queried said they intend to add personnel, and durable goods manufacturing, where 27% of respondents said they planned to add employees.
