Techmer Lehvoss Compounds, LLC (TLC) will acquire a select range of DSM specialty compounds from DSM Engineering Plastics, including the Electrafil and Plaslube product lines effective October 1, 2004.
Techmer Lehvoss Compounds (TLC) is an international joint venture between Techmer PM and Lehvoss with a focus on tailor-made specialties for the engineering plastics market. Techmer is well known as a supplier of color and additive masterbatches in North America. The company operates five manufacturing sites in the USA. The new production and technical headquarters of TLC will be located at Techmer’s 20-acre Tennessee campus.
Lehvoss (in Germany also known under Lehmann & Voss & Co. KG) has provides specialty compounds, particularly to address requirements for conductivity, high temperature resistance, or tribology. Lehvoss’ line of advanced specialty LUVOCOM grades will now be available to customers in North America through the dedicated TLC sales and technical support team."
The Electrafil and Plaslube product lines are considered non-core compounds by DSM. The company is concentrating on specialty applications requiring nylon 6, nylon 46, and copolyester elastomers in the mainstream automotive and electrical/electronics market.
