Brampton Engineering (BE) president and CEO Bud Smith and technical director Bill Wybenga accepted the Brampton Outstanding Business Achievement Award in the Advanced Manufacturing category at a gala event last week.
Mayor Susan Fennel of the City of Brampton and Brampton Board of Trade president Wayne Waters presented the awards at the Rose Theatre in Brampton, Ont. BE was chosen by a team of judges from the local business and academic community.
The Brampton-based original equipment manufacturer is a leader in the flexible packaging industry. In addition to its success in non-Canadian markets, the company has continued to introduce new products that enhance the manufacture of multilayer film-based flexible packaging.
According to BE, the company’s aggregate sales and profitability have grown at double-digit rates in the last five years. The company started as a local small component company in 1973, and has since grown its customer base to more than 50 countries. BE now employs approximately 120 people worldwide.
