The Plast-Ex 2007 trade show is less than two weeks away, and Canadian Plastics has all the information you may need before attending the show.

Plast-Ex, in its 50th year, will feature more than 500 exhibitors this year. The event is scheduled to take place from May 1-3 in Hall 1, 2 and 3 of the International Centre, located at 6900 Airport Road in Toronto, Ont.

Shuttle bus service will be provided for several area hotels during Plast-Ex. Three buses and one sweep van will run between the four Plast-Ex host hotels — Sheraton Gateway, Westin Bristol Place Toronto Airport, Holiday Inn Select and Quality Suites Toronto Airport — and the International Centre on the show days.

Shuttle service will commence at 8:30 am and end at 10:30 am on all three days of the show. Buses will be at the Hall 3 entrance, and will return to the hotels from 4:30 pm to 6:30 pm on May 1 and 2, and between 4 pm and 6 pm on May 3.

Be sure to visit Canadian Plastics at Booth 103, where attendees will have the chance to enter the draw for a free registration to our Resin Outlook Conference, set to take place on Oct. 3, 2007. Popular Canadian Plastics technical editor Jim Anderton will also deliver an informational and entertaining “Introduction to Plastics” presentation every day at 2:15 pm.

Each of the three show days will have a theme this year, which will be reflected in the educational programs and other activities for the day. The focus will be automation and innovation in manufacturing on Tuesday, May 1; automotive and transportation on Wednesday, May 2; and packaging, recycling and energy saving on Thursday, May 3.

Canadian Plastics associate editor Mark Stephen will moderate the Innovations in Packaging and Recycling breakfast panel on the third day of the show, and the magazine’s senior publisher Judith Nancekivell will moderate a luncheon entitled Energy saving: More than good business sense, a competitive tool later that day.
