German injection molding machine manufacturer Arburg has opened its own Mexican subsidiary, Arburg S.A. de C.V. The company said the move was the result of the increased presence of global players in the Mexican market, and the higher quality demands made by the company’s Mexican customers.

“Arburg S.A. de C.V. has been established to continue the successful work of our trading partner IPLYH and to further enhance Arburg’s presence and proximity to its customers,” said the company. “The new Arburg subsidiary will present itself to the public for the first time at the Plastimagen, which will take place in Mexico City from 8 to 11 April 2008.”

Four IPLYH employees, including three service technicians and a salesperson, have been transferred to Arburg. The new subsidiary will be headed up by Guillermo Fasterline, who has many years of experience in the industry.

Much like Arburg’s other worldwide subsidiaries, the Mexican location will provide service technicians for on-site support, a well-stocked spare parts store and a training room.
