Composite decking supplier Wood Composite Technologies Inc., a Canadian company which is winding down its production in the town of Nisku, Alta., has sold three extrusion equipment lines to U.S. manufacturer Westech Building Products ULC for $511,350 in cash.

The extrusion equipment was previously leased to Evansville, Ind.-based Westech, and was being used by Westech to provide custom extrusion services.

According to a report in the Canadian Press, Wood Composites received shareholder approval at the annual meeting this week for the board to sell the company’s assets. The sale clears the way for the sale of its Nisku property in a deal slated to close July 24. The $2.3 million sale was announced in April 2011.

Wood Composites uses sawdust waste and polyvinyl chloride to produce a composite product that can be used for decks. The product is marketed under the name of “Millennium Decking” by Millennium Decking Inc., a subsidiary of the corporation.
