Automotive parts supplier Magna International Inc. has opened two new auto supply facilities in the Mexican state of Coahuila.

Automotive parts supplier Magna International Inc. has opened two new auto supply facilities in the Mexican state of Coahuila.

Aurora, Ont.-based Magna has established a Magna Interiors plant in Arteaga for the production of headliners and complete overhead systems as well as consoles for various auto makers. In nearby Ramos Arizpe, it has established a Cosma International facility that focuses on engineering and design, including mechanical 2D and 3D assembly processing and compete 3D assembly line design.

Magna said it will employ approximately 345 people at the 13,700-square-metre Magna Interiors facility, and 180 people at the 11,148-square-metre Cosma International facility when they reach full production.

The company currently has 30 facilities in Mexico, of which 29 are manufacturing and assembly plants.
